In real life

Rockstar says cougar, not Florida panther. GameSift and GTABase read it as the Florida panther, the cougar subspecies that still lives in South Florida.

In real life, the Florida panther (Puma concolor coryi) is native to Florida. Florida range: The only breeding puma population east of the Mississippi River, now restricted to a single breeding population south of the Caloosahatchee River in South Florida. Source. Compare it with the other species on GTA 6 animals in real life.
