American Alligator in GTA 6

Alligators are the animal Rockstar has shown most. Its own captions put them in the Grassrivers twice: around an airboat, with one man aiming a gun at the closest one, and dead on an airboat deck next to a wildcat, with three mud-covered people posing beside them.

Checked against Rockstar's material on October 28, 2026 by Lorenzo Bruno. GTA 6 is out November 19, 2026.

Game Informer's preview adds a stilt camp at night with three alligators in the water, and Rockstar's description of the Grassrivers calls gators the wetland's most famous attraction. Leonida even has a TV mascot, Macca the Gator, the theme of the Goodtime State collector's set.

In real life, the American alligator (Alligator mississippiensis) is native to Florida. Florida range: Found throughout Florida in large shallow lakes, marshes, ponds, swamps, rivers, creeks and canals, mostly in fresh water but sometimes in brackish or salt water. Source.
